Lillington Free Church Table Tennis Club was born in September 1972. The club originated at Lillington Middle School the previous September and consisted of nine ex-pupils, eight girls and one boy. One of the founder members, Rachel Mackriell, went on to become Warwickshire and Sussex Ladies Champion and played for England Schools. The following year Lynn Brison joined the club, also becoming a Warwickshire Ladies Champion.
Soon the boys also showed their worth and David Matthews, Stuart Kurle and Mark Williams all attained England rankings.
The club's most successful player is one of its more recent members, Kelly Sibley the daughter of Lynn Brison. At the age of seventeen Kelly represented England in the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia before going on to become the number one lady on the England ranking list.
