Sunday 24th January 2010 will be a day that should live long in the memory of one of our club members, Cherry Matthews, who represents Phoenix in the Coventry League.  This was the day that Cherry, having only just recovered from illness, lifted the Womens Singles trophy in the Coventry Closed!

Cherry was in a round-robin group and claimed the title by successfully seeing off the challenges of Linda Clempson and Charlotte Spencer.  Cherry was denied a double as she just failed to add the Mixed Doubles title and had to settle for the runners-up trophy instead.

A fine weekend for one of our long standing club members - we send our congratulations and hope she can repeat the feat for Lillington Free Church come the Leamington Championships in April.
