When i went to Centerparcs for New Year my Dad entered me into the Center Parcs Table Tennis competition. There were 11 other players and some of them had played in leagues !
We were split into two groups of six and then we played each person in our group. We played one game up to 21 and had 5 serves each !!!
I won my first 3 games quite easy 21 - 3 against Max, 21 -6 against Thomas and 21 -16 against Jane.
My next game was against a much older man called Ian who played in a higher division than mine, he had a very good Serve which I struggled to return with my backhand and he was consistent at returning all my smashes. I lost this game 21 - 16.
I then went on to win my last game in the group and finished in second place.
I was one of the top four so went through to the Semi Finals.
I played Alex in the Semi final, he was a teenager and also played in a league. It was the best of three and I won two sets to nil.
The final was also the best of three and although I lost 21 - 15 , 21 - 17 there were some really long rallies and he was unbeaten throughout the tournament.
